Interactive Metronome (IM) is an advanced brain-based treatment program designed to promote and enhance brain performance.

Clients learn to:
  • focus and attend for longer periods of time,
  • increase physical endurance and stamina,
  • filter out internal and external distractions,
  • improve ability to monitor mental and physical actions as they are occurring, and
  • progressively improve performance
  • increase processing speed

Interactive Metronome (IM) is based on the theories of temporal processing and is supported by tightly controlled randomized clinical research. IM is used with both children and adults, and is currently being used in many public and private schools, therapy centers, athletic training facilities, rehabilitation facilities and music schools throughout the country.

Why Interactive Metronome at Learning Charms?
Learning Charms is offering Interactive Metronome because it is high tech and offers quick progress for a higher level of clients that we work with. Although it has been successfully used for a number of diagnosis, we are using it to facilitate "brain training" for clients that are already successful but want to improve processing speed, sports related timing, attention, and overall performance in academic, home, and sports environments.  In additon, we often recommend Interactive Metronome for children with ADD, ADHD, Auditory processing disorder, learning disabilities, Dyslexia, and Dyspraxia.

You can train when its convenient for you because Stephanie Wick of Learning Charms can train you virtually using
Interactive Metronome Home.  Stephanie is a licensed occupational therapist and  I.M. Home Provider and has trained over 100 clients, including both of her children.  Stephanie has trained clients with goals of improved sports performance, coordination, attention, emotional control, learning efficiency, processing speed, fluency, verbal fluency, visual processing, and focus.

How does it work?  You, the client purchase the Interactive Metronome Home version directly through their website.   Choose Stephanie Wick (Learning Charms) as your trainer.  You'll receive your equipment and then begin training in your home, on your schedule. All training sessions are assigned and delivered to your unit virtually.   Session results are monitored by Stephanie Wick remotely.  Based on your goals, additional sessions/exercises will be developed and uploaded to your equipment.

Time Commitment:  You must be willing to put the time commitment in to see optimal results.  Plan on at least fourteen (14)  forty minute (45 min) sessions.  Most clients benefit from closer to twenty-twenty five sessions.  This program is successful only with intensive training over a short period of time, so you must do at least 3 sessions per week until your optimal benefits are reached.

Commitment to complete the course is necessary in order to ensure results.

 Pricing
Session length  will be determined upon initial long form assessment (that is completed on your equipment at home).  Clients will receive pre, mid and post  test results that will measure progress.

1.  Price of unit (you buy directly from Interactive Metronome Home ) : You may be able to be fully reimbursed for the unit through your FSA/HSA account because it is considered a "medical device"

2.  $300.00  IM Home virtual training fee (per client, and non refundable), payable to Learning Charms includes:
  • One 30 minute initial  virtual session to help client set up, introduce to unit and/or set up session.

The training fee DOES NOT INCLUDE:

  • in-office visits
Additional Fees:
  • If any additional meetings are requested/needed past the amount included in the fee, the cost is the same as our occupational therapy pricing ($118 per hour)

The IM Home Virtual training fee is due in full before training begins.   Although you may be able to be reimbursed by HSA/FSA account for the unit, we will not bill insurance nor supply with paperwork for billing insurance.  Virtual therapy is not a reimbursable insurance treatment at this time.

Email from parent whose middle schooler completed the Interactive Metronome (I.M.) Home program through Learning Charms:

"Update on Jxxxx:  After completing 25+ sessions of IM, he has shown great improvement. He is in all Honors classes and made straight A's this 9 weeks (last year he made B's).  His teachers report that they are having no problems with him at ALL in class.  He is getting along with peers and even working well in groups. His standardized test scores jumped 10 points in math to the 97th percentile and 5 point in reading to the 90th percentile from the Spring to the Fall.  He also scored in the 99th percentile in science. He comes home and starts on his homework right away without being told and finishes quickly. Because he is getting his work done, Jxxxx  has had time to play on a recreational football team. It is so nice that he has time to play and be a kid.  Last year, he worked from the time he got home until the time he went to bed on homework.  We didn't have any time for extracurricular activities. The final benefit was that we were able to reduce his dosage of medication. Thanks for being willing to do the IM Home with him.  It had a significant impact on him!!!"
